Welcome to BB Events

We've confirmed a new passion. Since planning our own weddings, our interest in event planning has blossomed more than we imagined. We've always loved party planning - from holiday parties & bar-b-ques to birthdays, baby showers & reunions - pretty much any special occasion that involves bringing family & friends together and celebrating. Researching all the gorgeous party details (especially weddings) and brainstorming creative, budget-friendly ways to express the joys and emotions of each celebration is a confirmed passion of ours! Check out some of the brilliantly beautiful ways to celebrate in our blog. Feel free to comment & give us feedback!

Gender Reveal Baby Shower!

My husband and I chose to wait to find out the gender of our baby with our family and friends at our baby shower. We had a gender reveal with the shower cake! The baker made either a pink or blue cake frosted with our gender neutral color scheme on the outside. As we cut the cake, our baby's gender was revealed!

This year is the year of the rabbit as well, so we chose a bunny theme and integrated adorable bunnies in our decor - from the invitations to our favors! I found the idea for the bunny banner on hostessblog.com. For the favors, I found colorful ice cream bowls in at Target and stuffed it with homemade bunny shortbread cookies (Ina Garten's recipe). The bunny punch out is a from Martha Stewart found at Michaels (used their 40% off coupon, of course).

We set up a backyard brunch for our friends and family. Our desserts buffet was indoors to prevent of our sweet treats from melting. Our lollipop tree is adorned with cake pops inspired by bakerella. The tree itself is from Martha Stewart - a DIY that was super easy to make. Our centerpieces (partially featured above) were Safeway and Trader Joe's flower bouquets rearranged in mini mason jars with a bunny added to it (sorry no actual picture of our backyard with the decor; was too busy to take one before the guests arrived). We were very pleased with how great everything looked!
This cake is from Sweet Passion's Bakery, Cupertino, CA - mmm PINK velvet! And yay, we're having a GIRL!!!
