New twist on a favorite treat: Push Pop Cupcakes!!!

We all love cupcakes, right? Check out this cute way to package them - perfect for any celebration favor and so easy to make. I found these at CupKate's Event Design.

You can decorate these push pops in any way you want. Be creative with the flavors of cupcakes and color of the frostings. And don't forget the sprinkles either. Finally, put the finishing touches with personalized sticker labels and/or ribbons to complete the look!

As I looked more into this idea because I absolutely love it, I found step-by-step instructions on Gourmet Mom on-the-Go. This site also tells you where to buy these push pop containers in bulk. Buying mine now!!!

Enjoy!!!

Gender Reveal Baby Shower!

My husband and I chose to wait to find out the gender of our baby with our family and friends at our baby shower. We had a gender reveal with the shower cake! The baker made either a pink or blue cake frosted with our gender neutral color scheme on the outside. As we cut the cake, our baby's gender was revealed!

This year is the year of the rabbit as well, so we chose a bunny theme and integrated adorable bunnies in our decor - from the invitations to our favors! I found the idea for the bunny banner on hostessblog.com. For the favors, I found colorful ice cream bowls in at Target and stuffed it with homemade bunny shortbread cookies (Ina Garten's recipe). The bunny punch out is a from Martha Stewart found at Michaels (used their 40% off coupon, of course).

We set up a backyard brunch for our friends and family. Our desserts buffet was indoors to prevent of our sweet treats from melting. Our lollipop tree is adorned with cake pops inspired by bakerella. The tree itself is from Martha Stewart - a DIY that was super easy to make. Our centerpieces (partially featured above) were Safeway and Trader Joe's flower bouquets rearranged in mini mason jars with a bunny added to it (sorry no actual picture of our backyard with the decor; was too busy to take one before the guests arrived). We were very pleased with how great everything looked!
This cake is from Sweet Passion's Bakery, Cupertino, CA - mmm PINK velvet! And yay, we're having a GIRL!!!

We love candy buffets!

We were asked to set up another candy buffet for a baby shower this past weekend. We challenged ourselves to do lollipop tree stands this time - courtesy of Martha Stewart (she's so crafty!). The theme was jungle...so we used the that color palate and brought in panda snacks, an original jungle mix (a.k.a. like a trail mix) and animal crackers, amongst other sweet treats. See our display below!

A Safari Baby Shower!

We had fun doing this one last weekend - a very personal baby shower for sure!
Filled with cute animals and bright colors, the guests had a great time. The location was a clubhouse rental - fully furnished with a huge kitchen & open floor plan. We had a variety of snacks from savory to sweets to satisfy all palates. Check out how all the details came together!

The diaper cakes came in all different shapes and styles!
We DIY'd the cupcakes in a jar as favors for the party guests!

Sneak Preview of Upcoming Baby Shower!

Here's a upcoming project we're working on. The DIY details (including invitations pictured above & favors pictured below) are coming together and just wanted to share! We even took the couple's maternity pictures a couple weeks ago. Here's a BBE tip: ask a friend who likes taking photos and with a nice SLR to spend an afternoon taking DIY baby bump photos. *HUGE money savings!!!*

Stay tuned for the actual event coming soon!

Happy 2011!

It's definitely been a while since updating this blog. Been tremendously busy over the holidays entertaining friends and family. Finally, a moment to slow down and share some pictures with from Thanksgiving (yes, that was in NOVEMBER!) and Christmas.

Every year for Christmas, we try to pick a color theme - this year it was red and aqua! Our guests are asked to dress in these holiday colors when they come to our party and share the spirit of Christmas. We had tons of food and games! Good times. Perfect way to end 2010 and welcome 2011!
