Researching all the gorgeous party details (especially weddings) and brainstorming creative, budget-friendly ways to express the joys and emotions of each celebration is a confirmed passion of ours! Check out some of the brilliantly beautiful ways to celebrate in our blog. Feel free to comment & give us feedback!

Thanks for looking! And please contact us if you need ideas for your celebration! We are based out of the San Francisco-Bay Area in Northern California.

Real Wedding: Brilliant Florals by BB Events

We were asked to play a different role in the wedding this weekend. We were challenged to help this couple design and create a romantically, classic wedding reception at Hans Fahden Winery in Calistoga. The venue is unique for its cave dinner reception, as well as gorgeous garden ceremony. Words can hardly describe the beauty of this venue.

Sparkling red and gold hues set the tone for the cave dinner wedding reception. Check out the candelabra centerpieces we created and the glowing brilliance of the reception decor. We loved how of the centerpieces, cocktail reception florals, and the cake floral decor turned out at this beautiful Calistoga venue. We also contributed to the bridal party flowers by making the bridesmaids blushing pink bouquets to go with the richly red bridal bouquet made by Angela's Flowers in Santa Clara. Not shown here are also some red rose boutinneres and a corsage we made for bridal party.

We executed this event brilliantly and beautifully, IMHO!
CONGRATS X & J!!!

E & D's Wedding - by BB Events (TEASER)

From vacation right back into weddings - LOVE IT! Yes, I just got back from vacation last week.

We had a gorgeous weekend in Monterey for E & D's wedding! The bride and groom chose a brilliantly beautiful color combo of cranberry and lemon...so cheerfully elegant. The ceremony was at the First Presbyterian Church in Monterey, followed by a reception at Club Del Monte on the naval academy campus. Here are some non-pro teasers (ie. from my humble camera)! Stay tune for more...

The three floral pieces featured in the photos above were made and designed by BBE to decorate the reception area.

Brilliant DIY: How to DIY your centerpieces

If you have the time and energy, DIY-ing your own centerpieces is a BIG money saver - whether it's a floral or non-floral centerpiece. Definitely do your research beforehand though and know your creative limitations. Keeping it simple and beautiful is not only more doable but also more economical!

Research: (1) flowers that are in season around your wedding date, (2) life expectancy or durability of the flowers, (3) cost of the flowers, (4) cost of the accessories: vases, floral foam or tape, votives holders/candles, etc. (5) designs that you think you can do, (6) plan out how you are actually going to carry the project out (ie, when to buy the flowers, how to transport bulk flowers and preserve them, who will help you because you WILL most certainly need help, who will set it up at the ceremony/reception for you). I essentially took a stroll to different wholesale flower markets and local wholesale stores like costco to see what was available to me. I jotted all the information down as I went along. Bring a camera along as well because you might not know all the interesting flower names!

Do a trial!: This is a must. You must know how you are going to do the centerpieces and how long each centerpiece will take to make. Remember, your days before the wedding will be full of other things to worry about, so this project must be very well planned out, so it can be executed with the utmost efficiency.

Here's a sample from my wedding:

Step 1: Buy the flowers

STEP 2: Water in vase.

STEP 3: Alum powder on Hydrangea stem - makes it live longer.

(Part of the research step...Can just ask the florist as well for this information.)

STEP 4: Arrange the as you like!
