This cute little monster brings a smile to everyone's face. See below for the bright details - thanks again to Pinterest for some of these great DIY ideas. Everything here is DIY except for the birthday cake. This 3 year-old's dad even made individual wooden name tags for each guests' good bag - totally brilliant! The birthday cake below is from Caketerest Bake Shop - thanks to yelp, we've discovered another yummy and affordable baker with excellent cake decorating skill. Please do check her out (just click on the hyperlink!).

Bridal Shower Tea Party - by BB Events

We had the perfect weather and the perfect setting at the bride-to-be's house for a brilliantly beautiful tea party! Highlighting her wedding colors blue and yellow, we transformed her back yard patio overlooking the lagoon into a charming tea house adorned with pompoms and rosettes. Her wedding will be in tropical Cancun, so we added some subtle tropical details in the plates (note: pineapples) and foods served. We filled the table with the bride-to-be's favorites (with the help of her bridesmaids and future mother-in-law), including a homemade vietnamese salad, dimsum and a variety of tea sandwiches. The desserts table was filled with a variety of cakes, mini scones, chocolate mousse cups, bite-sized tarts, coconut macaroons, and DIY tropical fruit skewers. The guest of honor and her guests raved about about the tea selections from Lupicia (can't really go wrong with tea from there!). The guest took home tea samplings from Lupicia that we simply dressed up in navy and yellow. Check out the details below!

congrats C!

DIY: Pink & Lavender Baby Shower - Rosettes and Push-pops!

We celebrated another happy couple's soon-to-arrive baby girl a few weekends ago. We completed the decor with shades of pinks and purples - the paper rosettes and butterflies punch-outs added the perfect touch...simple and easy-to-make! The DIY brownie push-pops favors were a big hit as well!

Congrats to J and D - can't wait to meet you baby girl!

Real Birthdays: Vroom Vroom - a race car day of fun!

Race cars - that's what this 2-year old loves right now. We loved creating this backdrop to highlight the fun theme with bold colors, racer checkers and paper rosettes made to look like silver rims. We did get some ideas off Pinterest but personalized them to this little boy.

Check out the details below: we made lots of little race car treats; from brownie race cars (shaped from Costco premade brownies), kit-kat traffic lights, pretzel "dipsticks" to cotton candy "airbags." The cul-de-sac in front of the house was blocked off and turned into a race track filled with cardboard cars, pedal cars and motor cars. The birthday boy and his friends had a great time on this beautiful, sunny day in February!

Real Birthdays: Come Luau! - by BB Events

ALOOOOOOOOOHA!
This was a very special day for a precious 1-year old girl. We had fun planning a backyard luau that incorporated  a tropical display of sweets and a mixed Hawaiian-Filipino savory menu (fully loaded with a whole Lechon). The day was packed with activities for the children, including a Lilo & Stitch jumper house (from Fantasy Jumperz), a special hula performance & lesson, paper lei making and swimming in the backyard pool! The guests also had access to a DIY photobooth - which took some super fun photos! A luau would not be complete without a lei for each guest - this one made of candies (yummy; photos below).
The balloons were anchored down by golf tees - a genius trick we picked up from Pinterest.
We had the most fun with the dessert table - with a backdrop filled with paper rosettes, streamers, a Martha Stewart birthday garland and photos of the birthday girl from 0 - 12 months! The sweets menu included multi-layered jello & haupia (coconut jello) cups on the 3-tier trays, mango cake (left),  3-layered vanilla cake (center), guava cake (right), pineapple cupcakes with coconut frosting, a fruit platter, brownie with oreo frosting push pops, pianono (a Filipino rolled cake) and a jar of chocolate chip cookies. All were homemade except the mango and guava cake, which were ordered from Aki's Bakery.

We were very fortunate to have found Carmel from A Polynesian Performance last minute, who put on a great hula performance, including a dedication hula to the birthday girl and her parents. She also gave the kids a fun hula lesson.

MAHALO for reading this post!
